The Devil's Envoys (French: Les Visiteurs du Soir, translated as The Night Visitors) is a 1942 film by French film director Marcel Carné, famous for his romantic tragedy, Children of Paradise (1945). The film, which debuted on 5 December 1942 during the Nazi occupation of France, is an allegory of the eternal struggle between good and evil as fourteenth-century lovers defy the Devil.
The film stars Arletty, Marie Déa, Jules Berry, Fernand Ledoux, Gabriel Gabrio, Alain Cuny and, in a minor role, Simone Signoret.
